Use the fcmsutil command-line diagnostic tool with the following host bus adapters:
•AD300A
AB378B
AB379B
AB378A
AB379A
A6826A
A9782A
A9784A
AB465A
Use the fcmsutil command to perform test and echo functions, read card registers, and display information
such as the N_Port ID, Node World-Wide Name, Port World-Wide Name, link speed, chip revision number,
Vital Product Data (VPD) information and more. When you use fcmsutil with dual port adapters, each port
is accessed and configured independently through the appropriate device driver.
CAUTION The fcmsutil command is a powerful diagnostic tool that can cause problems if used
incorrectly. Read and understand the manpage carefully before using fcmsutil.
The primary fcmsutil options for system administrators are:
echo
test
reset
get
For detailed information on this utility and its options, see the fcmsutil manpage.
To use fcmsutil, you must know the device file name. Enter the following command to determine the device
file:
ioscan -fknd fcd
The output varies depending on the device. A sample follows:
