AB379B PCI-X Dual Port 4 Gb Fibre Channel Adapter
The AB379B is a dual port 4 Gb-capable adapter that operates in PCI 33 MHz/66 MHz and PCI-X 66
MHz/133 MHz/266 MHz bus speeds with a 64-bit bus width. Both ports support Auto-Speed Negotiation, and
are independently capable of 1 Gb, 2 Gb, or 4 Gb data transfer rates. Auto-Speed Negotiation enables each
port to automatically negotiate the highest speed common to the port and the infrastructure connecting the
port.
The AB379B is an updated version of the AB379A, with support for a broader range of servers. It is backward
compatible with the AB379A.
Use the fcmsutil diagnostic tool to display link speed and other Vital Product Data (VPD) information.
The AB379B dual port adapter supports Online Addition and Replacement (OLAR) on OLAR-capable systems
running HP-UX 11i v1 or 11i v2. OLAR refers to the ability of a PCI card to be replaced (removed or added)
without shutting down and rebooting the system.
The AB379B dual port adapter supports fabric topologies. The direct attach topology is supported using
arbitrated loop topology.
