What to Do
To determine if a configuration may have this problem, follow
these steps:
1. Determine the dump device and note the device filename.
2. If the dump device is on the LVM/ VxVM, then identify the
physical disk.
3. Enter the following command: ioscan
Note the dump device filename and follow the I/O path to the
I/O controller card that is connected to the dump device.
Impacted systems will have the word “SEAGATE” next to
the physical disk device AND the driver name associated
with the controller is “c8xx”.
If your configuration is impacted, do the following:
Apply the driver fix available in PHKL_29681. Go to the
web: http://itrc.hp.com.
OR
Replace and reconfigure the disk:
Replace the physical disk for the dump device with a
non-Seagate manufactured disk.
