Media Kit Contents For new systems, the HP-UX 11i v2 media kit includes the following DVDs and documentation. For the update service, you only get components that change from one release to the next. • HP-UX 11i v2 (B.11.23) DVDs — Contains the HP-UX Operating System (OS), Operating Environments (OEs), required networking software, Update-UX, Ignite-UX, standard HP-UX patch bundles, and online diagnostics. • HP-UX 11i v2 (B.11.23) Applications DVD — Contains HP-UX application software.

Table 1: New Products to HP-UX 11i v2 New Product Description 10GigEthr-00 Adds support for the AB287A PCI-X 10 Gigabit Ethernet card. Now available as a selectable product in the OEs.

Available on the Web at http://software.hp.com and expected to be released in the near future. HP System Management Homepage A Web-based interface that consolidates and simplifies single system management for HP servers, now available for HP-UX 11i v1 and v2. HP-UX Virtual Partitions (vPars) A.04.
Table 1: New Products to HP-UX 11i v2 New Product Description Portability Package (version B.11.23.0505) Provides select Tru64 UNIX Application Program Interfaces (APIs), as well as enhancements to existing APIs, to ease the migration of code from Tru64 UNIX and Sun Microsystem’s Solaris Operating System to HP-UX 11i v2. Systems Insight Manager Replaces HP Servicecontrol Manager. Updated to version 4.2 with support for System Management Homepage and other products.

HP-UX iSCSI Software Initiator Updated to incorporate minor enhancements. RAID-01 Updated to incorporate defect fixes. scsiU320-00 Supports the A7173A card and now, the AB290A card. HP Instant Capacity (iCAP) (formerly Instant Capacity on Demand, or iCOD) Updated to version B.11.23.07.00.

GlancePlus Pak Updated to version C.03.86 with new parm file parameters and new metrics, as well as enhancements to gpm and glance. High Availability Monitors Now supports the Node and Host Name Expansion feature. HP Process Resource Manager (PRM) version C.03.
Table 2: Updated Products in HP-UX 11i v2 Updated Product Description Partition Manager Now runs as an application under HP System Management Homepage, which has several effects. PRM Libraries The PRM-Sw-Krn fileset is now C.01.03. When upgrading HP Process Resources Manager, you will need to reboot the system. HP Servicecontrol Manager Replaced by HP Systems Insight Manager. HP Serviceguard NFS Toolkit Updated to version A.11.23.
Table 2: Updated Products in HP-UX 11i v2 Updated Product Description Software Distributor Updated with new versions of the gzip and swpackage commands to provide added capability and increased performance. Quality Pack HP-UX 11i v2 includes Quality Pack, as will future releases of HP-UX 11i v2. Update-UX Updated to reflect defect fixes. No new features or functionality. Upper Layer Module (ULM) Services Deprecated.
Table 2: Updated Products in HP-UX 11i v2 Updated Product Description HP-UX IPFilter Updated to version A.03.05.11.01 with defect fixes and performance enhancements. HP-UX Host Intrusion Detection System Upgraded to release 3.0 with better performance and CPU utilization, as well as many enhancements and defect fixes. HP-UX Auditing System Upon installation of the HP-UX Standard Mode Security Extensions product, can now perform audits without converting the system to trusted mode.

ObsJava12 Added to remove previously-installed Java version 1.2. Perl 5.8.2 build 808 Includes better Unicode support and numeric accuracy, new I/O and thread implementation, and other changes.
Table 2: Updated Products in HP-UX 11i v2 Updated Product Description IB4X-00 (InfiniBand) Updated to support AB286A HP PCI-X 2-port 4X Fabric (HPC) Adapter. LDAP-UX Client Services Updated to version B.03.30 to provide coexistence with Trusted Mode, as well as other changes. Metrocluster EMC/SRDF, Metrocluster XP CA, and Continentalclusters Updated with several enhancements, including support for HP-UX Virtual Partitions.
HP-UX 11i v2 Operating Environments Operating Environments are tested and integrated application bundles designed to work with the operating system and provide the functionality needed for your system’s purpose. For more information about the contents of the OEs, see the HP-UX 11i v2 Installation and Update Guide, or see the HP-UX 11i v2 Release Notes.
• HP-UX 11i v2 Mission Critical OE (MCOE) — Designed for large, powerful, back-end application servers and database servers, this OE contains the Enterprise OE bundles, plus applications such as HP Serviceguard and Workload Manager to enable a mission-critical server. This OE is bundled as HPUX11i-OE-MC.
Known Problems This section contains critical, late-breaking information that was not included in the HP-UX 11i v2 Installation and Update Guide. Before cold-installing or updating to HP-UX 11i v2, make sure you read this entire section and Appendix B in the HP-UX 11i v2 Installation and Update Guide. Reboot Corrupts the Kernel Registry (Itanium Systems Only) The reboot command used with the -r -n -q options corrupts the kernel registry /stand/current/krs/config.krs after reboot. You may encounter this defect when using the Oracle 10g RAC with the cluster ready service. Any error detected by Oracle leading to the reboot -n may cause this corruption and result in an unusable system.
Memory Discrepancy with parstatus Command When using the parstatus command on PA-RISC platforms, the amount of memory allocated for CLM may not match the amount of CLM requested due to some memory being reserved exclusively for firmware as shown in the following example: parstatus -Vp0 [Partition] Partition Number : Partition Name : Status : IP Address : Primary Boot Path : Alternate Boot Path : HA Alternate Boot Path : PDC Revision : IODCH Version : Cell Architecture : CPU Compatibility : CPU Speed : Core
