Features
The evweb tool offers the following features for system administrators only:
• Subscription administration:
– Create, modify, and delete evweb event subscriptions: You can create event subscriptions for the
WBEM indications you want to monitor. You can also modify and delete the event subscriptions.
You can specify event archive, email address, or both as the event destination. The events stored
in the local event archive can be viewed through the evweb event viewer. The HP-Advised event
subscriptions cannot be deleted.
– Create and modify admin-defined event subscriptions: You can create and modify admin-defined
event subscriptions, but you cannot delete admin-defined event subscriptions. You can create
admin-defined subscriptions using the fmdcontrol command. You cannot create admin-defined
subscriptions using the evweb CLI and the HP SMH. Through evweb, you can modify admin-
defined subscriptions but cannot create or delete them.
– Copy and create event subscriptions: You can use the copy feature to create a new event
subscription and modify single or multiple event subscriptions.
• Delete events: You can delete an event to permanently remove it from the database.
• Tracing: You can obtain detailed information on errors encountered by evweb in the trace files
available at /opt/sfm/log/sfm.log. The trace information can be useful to the HP Support
representative for solving errors generated by evweb. The evweb tool provides four trace levels. The
default trace level is ERROR (more detailed logs are stored if the trace level is changed to
INFORMATIONAL). You can enable tracing for an evweb session (the duration between a login
