The NetTL Log File
The NetTL log file contains all errors generated by olrad except those that are generated when using view
options such as -q or -c. This is a log file, not a directory.
Where is the NetTL Log File Located The NetTL log file can be found in /var/adm/nettl.LOG00
How to View the NetTL Log File To view the NetTL log file, you will use the netfmt command. For
example, to format and view the last 50 lines of the log file you would type:
netfmt -t 50 -f /var/adm/nettl.LOG000
Refer to the nettl (1M), netfmt (1M), and olrad (1M) manual pages for more information.
Command Errors
The Peripheral Device Tool GUI depends on calling underlying commands such as ioscan and olrad to
facilitate most tasks. When one of these commands fails, an error message appears describing the error and
providing the error information the command received. Refer to the following topics for errors that may occur
with these commands.
olrad Errors
The Peripheral Device Tool depends on the olrad command to execute all OL* related actions. If the olrad
command returns a failure, the related error is displayed in the current page including all available error
information. Refer to the olrad (1M) manual page for help in interpreting error messages returned by this
command.
In addition, all errors are logged in the NetTL log file. More detail about why the command failed is found in
this log file. Refer to The NetTL Log File above, for specifics.
If no obvious problems are recorded in the log file, you may need additional support resources which are found
in “Other documentation” on page 98.
Other Command Errors
Errors encountered with the use of the ioscan, insf, and diskinfo commands are typically stored in the
SAM log file, if they have been invoked by pdweb or from other sam areas. Refer to “How to View the SAM Log
File” on page 90 for specifics. If these commands are run from the command line, they are not logged to the
SAM log files.
