Accessing pdweb
The Peripheral Device Tool can be accessed in any of the following ways:
• from the command line, using the pdweb command;
• from a Web browser, using the URL of a pdweb server that has already been started;
• from the pdweb autostart option;
• from the HP Servicecontrol Manager (SCM);
• from the Cards and Devices area of the System Administration Manager (sam (1M)).
pdweb Command
To launch the Peripheral Device Tool from the command line, use the pdweb command.
Command syntax for pdweb.
pdweb [-h] [-F] [-c]
pdweb -s { start | stop | status | restart }
options When pdweb is invoked without the -s option, both the pdweb server and client components
are started. If the client Web browser is already running, pdweb uses the existing browser
window. The Web browser is pointed to the Peripheral Device Tool login screen.
The pdweb command normally starts both the pdweb server and client components, however,
it can also be used with the -s option to start or stop the pdweb server component without
starting a client Web browser.
Refer to the pdweb (1M) manual page for a detailed description of the command line
options.
