Disks and File Systems
The Disks and File Systems (fsweb) application provides a Web-based graphical user
interface (GUI) to HP-UX system administration tasks.
While the HP-UX Systems Administration Manager (SAM) application is still the
primary interface for HP-UX 11i v2 (B.11.23) system management, the fsweb
application provides a Web-based GUI in addition to the File System and Disks area in
the SAM Functional Area Launcher (FAL).
The fsweb tool supports system administration tasks, including management of logical
groups and volume groups, disk management tasks, and file system tasks. The fsweb
tool supports the following file systems:
• Cache File System (CFS)
• Compact Disc File System (CDFS)
• Common Internet File System (CIFS)
• Hierarchical File System (HFS)
• Network File System (NFS)
• Veritas File System (VxFS)
From an HP-UX 11i v2 system, you can launch the Disks and File Systems (fsweb) GUI
from HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM) and HP System Management Homepage
(HP SMH). You can still launch the legacy Disks and File Systems Functional Area from
the SAM Functional Area Launcher (FAL). You can only run fsweb within these other
applications. It is not a standalone application as it requires HP SMH to run. You cannot
start fsweb from a command line.
The fsweb tool runs on the HP-UX 11i v2 Operating Environments. It is not supported
on Linux and Windows operating systems. The fsweb bundle name is FileSystems.
When you install an HP-UX 11i v2 Operating Environment, fsweb is default installed.
The fsweb bundle is on the Operating Environment DVD and the Applications DVD.
