Distributed Systems Administration Utilities
Distributed Systems Administration Utilities (DSAU) V1.2 for HP-UX 11i v2 September
2006 provides several tools to simplify managing groups of systems and Serviceguard
clusters. DSAU has three components that operate across groups of systems and
Serviceguard clusters:
• configuration synchronization tools for policy-based configuration management
• consolidated logging for centralized logging and log filtering
• command fanout for executing shell commands and distributing files
Summary of Change
Distributed Systems Administration Utilities V1.2 have been enhanced with updated
and enhanced features to the csync_wizard, including multidomain support and the
display config menu item. It also uses a newer version of cfengine (.20).
Consolidated logging has been enhanced to support text log consolidation, and a new
command, cwall, has been added for message broadcast.
Additionally, the csync and clog wizards can be launched from HP Systems Insight
Manager (HP SIM) and HP System Management Homepage (HP SMH).
Full information on DSAU can be found in its own release notes and manual, the new
Distributed Systems Administration Utilities User’s Guide. Previous information in the
HP-UX Managing Systems and Workgroups manual and the Managing Serviceguard
manual is obsolete and is superseded by the new Distributed Systems Administration
Utilities User’s Guide.
