• JDK/JRE 5.0 and the JDK/JRE Add-ons have been updated to incorporate defect
fixes.
• JDK/JRE 5.0 is now delivered on the Technical Operating Environment (TCOE) as
well as the other OEs. (It was not included on the TCOE in the December 2005
release.)
•The ObsJava13 (Obsolescence for Java 1.3) bundle is now included and will remove
SDK/RTE and Plug-In 1.3 upon installation of the Operating Environments.

Obsolescence
Upon installation of the HP-UX 11i v2 Operating Environments, SDK/RTE 1.2 and 1.3
are obsolete and are removed by ObsJava12 (Obsolescence for Java 1.2) and ObsJava13
(Obsolescence for Java 1.3), respectively.
Java Out-of-Box
Java Out-of-Box (JAVAOOB) is a stand-alone bundle that upon installation will install
startup (RC) scripts, modify kernel parameters, rebuild the kernel, and reboot the
system. During startup, the startup scripts will modify system tunables, thus providing
better “Out of The Box” behavior for Java.
