The base VERITAS File System 3.5 (HP JFS 3.5) is a new version of the base journaled
file system for HP-UX 11i and is available at no charge as part of HP-UX 11i v2.
The full VERITAS File System 3.5 (HP OnlineJFS 3.5) enables advanced file system
features and is ordered as a separate product.
NOTE The terms base VERITAS File System 3.5, HP JFS 3.5, and base VxFS are used
interchangeably throughout these release notes.
In addition, the terms full VERITAS File System 3.5, HP OnlineJFS 3.5, and full VxFS
are used interchangeably throughout these release notes.
All of these terms may appear in other related VERITAS File System (HP
OnlineJFS/JFS 3.5) documentation that accompanies this product.
Summary of Change
The VERITAS File System 3.5 (HP OnlineJFS 3.5) now enables creation of file systems
of up to 8 TB (maximum file size is 2 TB). The 8 TB file systems creation is currently
supported only with VERITAS Volume Manager 3.5 (VxVM 3.5).
Impact
With the support for 8 TB file system sizes, you can now create and use large VxFS file
systems up to 8 TB in size.
