Deprecated Functionality
Several commands, library routines and lp model files that implement
internationalization functionality are being deprecated as of the October 2003 and
March 2004 HP-UX 11i v2 releases.

Summary of Change
The ATOK 8 Japanese input method is now in deprectated status, and will not be
included in future major releases of HP-UX.
ATOK X, the enhanced version of ATOK8, is included in HP-UX 11i v2. It includes the
SuperATOK Kana-to-Kanji conversion engine and provides more comfortable and
effective Japanese input. It also provides a migration capability for the user-defined
dictionary and key-mappings from the ATOK 8, VJE-gamma, and EGBridge input
methods.
Impact
There are no changes to the current product. The ATOK X input method is provided in
this release. You should transition usage of ATOK 8 to ATOK X.
