Impact
There are no impacts other than those described previously.
Compatibility
• All SAS devices are not supported by Ignite-UX.
• All SAS disk devices are not supported by Ignite-UX.
• Older versions of Ignite-UX do not contain support for SAS devices so these devices
cannot be detected during installation. It is not possible to use SAS devices for
installation or recovery unless Ignite-UX version C.6.8.x is used.
• If you are using SAS devices, you must use Ignite-UX version C.6.8.x and the HP-UX
11i v2 June 2006 release to avoid a system hang during installations. A system hang
occurs when the system reboots after installation because the SAS device layout is
unknown. This is a result of a kernel being installed from an older version of
Ignite-UX that did not contain SAS support.
• Ignite-UX does not support configurations that include both VxVM 3.5 and VxVM
4.1 in the same image. Please make sure that your installation and recovery images
contain only one version of the VxVM product.
Performance
There are no known performance issues.
