Verifying the HP-UX Cold-Install or Update

Task 2: Verifying the Installed Software
Step 1. Verify that the basic operating system was installed successfully:
/usr/sbin/swverify HPUXBaseOS
/usr/sbin/swverify HPUXBaseAux
/usr/sbin/swverify Bundle11i
The message “Verification succeeded” should be displayed on the console
at the end of the operation. Further messages from the verification
process can be found in the log files: /var/adm/sw/swverify.log and
/var/adm/sw/swagent.log
Step 2. Verify that the Operating Environment Bundle was installed
successfully:
/usr/sbin/swlist -l bundle | grep HP-UX11i
/usr/sbin/swverify bundlename
where bundlename is the bundle displayed by the first command.
The message “Verification succeeded” should be displayed on the console
at the end of the operation. Further messages from the verification
process can be found in the log files: /var/adm/sw/swverify.log and
/var/adm/sw/swagent.log
Step 3. Verify that all software was successfully installed on your system:
/usr/sbin/swverify \*

Step 4. Ensure that the install time security bundle was successfully installed
by verifying that the following file exists:
/var/opt/sec_mgmt/bastille/level-application-errors
For details please refer to that file. Additional background may be found
in the contents of /etc/rc.log.
At any time, you may use the following command to determine which
security configuration bundle you used to configure your system:
/opt/sec_mgmt/bastille/bin/bastille -l
