About This Document
This guide describes installing (called cold-installing) HP-UX 11i Version
2 (B.11.23) and updating from the following paths:
• HP-UX 11i version 1 (B.11.11) PA-RISC to HP-UX 11i version 2
(B.11.23) PA-RISC
• HP-UX 11i version 1.6 (B.11.22) Intel Itanium to HP-UX 11i
version 2 (B.11.23) Intel Itanium
• HP-UX 11i version 2 (B.11.23) Intel Itanium to HP-UX 11i Version
2 (B.11.23) Intel Itanium
The document printing date and part number indicate the document’s
current edition. The printing date will change when a new edition is
printed. Minor changes may be made at reprint without changing the
printing date. The document part number will change when extensive
changes are made. Document updates may be issued between editions to
correct errors or document product changes.

Intended Audience
This document is intended for system administrators responsible for
installing, configuring, and managing HP-UX 11i v2 on HP Integrity
Servers, HP Workstations, and HP 9000 Servers. Administrators are
expected to have knowledge of operating system concepts, commands,
and configuration.
