HP-UX Virtual Partitions
HP-UX Virtual Partitions (vPars) A.04.05 enables multiple instances of the HP-UX 11i version 2
Operating Environment (OE) to run simultaneously on one server or within one nPartition, with
each OE instance hosting its own set of applications in an isolated environment.
When vPars A.04.05 is available, it can be purchased at the HP-UX Virtual Partitions (T1335BC)
website at Software Depot:
http://software.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=T1335BC
Summary of Change
vPars A.04.05 provides support for mixed HP-UX 11i v1/v2 vPars environments, which enable
virtual partitions running HP-UX 11i v1 (B.11.11) and HP-UX 11i v2 (B.11.23) to exist in the same
nPartition. Only the vPars A.04.05 and vPars A.03.05 releases are supported in a mixed HP-UX
11i v1/v2 vPars environment.
CAUTION: To upgrade to a mixed HP-UX 11i v1/v2 vPars environment you must read and
follow the procedure documented in the HP-UX Virtual Partitions Administrator's Guide. New
command options and changed update procedures support upgrading from existing vPars
environments with minimal downtime.
