What is New in the December 2005 Release?
In the following summaries, you can obtain a general picture of how the December 2005
release of HP-UX 11i v2 differs from the May 2005 release of HP-UX 11i v2.
For further information, see the indicated sections in the remainder of this document.
Chapter 2: “Introduction to HP-UX 11i Version 2” (see page 17)
• HP-UX 11i v2 Minimal Technical Operating Environment (MTOE): May 2005 was
last release that included the Minimal Technical OE (MTOE). After May 2005, the
MTOE is no longer delivered.
Chapter 4: “Server-Specific Information” (see page 77)
• Hardware Enablement Patch Bundle (HWEnable11i): Added support for hp
BladeSystems Itanium BL60p servers. Several I/O driver bundles added or updated.
(See “Hardware Enablement Patch Bundle” on page 78.)
• HP Instant Support Enterprise Edition (ISEE): Updated to incorporate defect fixes
and feature enhancements. (See “HP Instant Support Enterprise Edition” on
page 79.)
• Networking and Mass Storage Drivers (see page 81)
— 10GigEthr-00: The ixgbe driver updated to version B.11.23.06 for December
2005. With the installation of separately available patches, the driver supports
port-based steering multiqueue and TCP packet-reassembly in the driver. (See
“10GigEthr-00 (10 Gigabit Ethernet)” on page 84.)
— FibrChanl-00: Updated to incorporate driver fixes. (See “FibrChanl-00 (Fibre
Channel)” on page 87.)
— FibrChanl-01: Updated to version B.11.23.04.01 with defect fixes and support
for to-be-released AB378A and AB379A cards. (See “FibrChanl-01 (Fibre
Channel)” on page 87.)
— GigEther-00: Updated to incorporate defect fixes. (See “GigEther-00 (Gigabit
Ethernet)” on page 83.)
— RAID-01: Updated to incorporate defect fixes. (See “RAID-01” on page 88.)
— scsiU320-00: Updated with quality and diagnostic improvements for Ultra320
SCSI solutions. (See “scsiU320-00” on page 89.)
— New Product: SerialSCSI-00: Added to the HP-UX 11i v2 Operating
Environments to support cards that will be released in the future. (See
“SerialSCSI-00” on page 91.)
— USB-00: Updated to version C.01.02.01 with quality improvements. (See “USB-00
(Universal Serial Bus)” on page 90.)
• Supported Systems: HP-UX 11i v2 not supported on HP Workstations. (See
