Summary of Change
• The HP-UX Accounts for Users and Groups tool (ugweb) is newly introduced in this
release.
• In this release, the HP-UX Accounts for Users and Groups tool is a plug-in for the
HP System Management Homepage (HP SMH). On launching the new Web-based
User and Group Account configuration tool from SAM, the HP-UX Accounts for
Users and Groups tool is displayed from the HP System Management Homepage on
the Web browser.
•The ugweb tool does not support trusted mode and NIS+ in this release. On
launching the tool from the HP SMH, the Tools page will not display “Accounts for
Users and Groups” if the system is in trusted or NIS+ configuration.
•The ugweb tool supports shadow mode.
•The ugweb tool supports NIS configuration.
Impact
You will be able to manage HP-UX user and group accounts from SAM, from the HP
System Management Homepage, or from the HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM) in
a new look-and-feel Web-based GUI.

The HP-UX Kernel Configuration tool allows the user to configure an HP-UX kernel and
to monitor consumption of kernel resources controlled by parameters. You can configure
the kernel from the Web-based user interface (kcweb), from the terminal user interface,
or from the command-line interface.
