• Quorum Server and the Quorum Server Version A.02.00 Release Notes
Summary of Change
HP Serviceguard has been updated to version A.11.17. New features include the
following:
• Serviceguard A.11.17 has been tested with HP-UX 11i Security Containment, which
is available on the Web at http://hp.com/go/softwaredepot. Serviceguard now
incorporates enhanced security that was initially released as a patch to address
security bulletin HPSBUX01080.
• Serviceguard now uses the identd daemon to enhance security. For more details, see
the white paper “Securing Serviceguard”, October 2004, posted at
http://docs.hp.com -> High availability -> Serviceguard -> White Papers.
NOTE HP does not recommend disabling the Serviceguard security features in
Serviceguard A.11.16. These features provide and maintain the integrity and high
availability for your data. However, if you do need to disable the features, see the
Serviceguard A.11.17 Release Notes.
• HP Fabric Clustering System for InfiniBand
1
is supported with Serviceguard to be
used as cluster heartbeat and data networks using IPoIB.
• A new option for the cmviewcl command (-f line) creates output that is formatted to
be used by scripts. The easily parsed output from the command is a concise summary
of cluster objects and their status.
• Support for Distributed Systems Administration Utilities (DSAU)
2
features
including:
— configuration synchronization tools
— consolidated logging tools
— command fan-out tool
• The memory allocation for packages has changed. When you create the cluster,
Serviceguard now reserves enough memory for the maximum number of packages
supported. Previously, it allocated memory based on the value of
MAX_CONFIGURED_PACKAGES that was specified in the configuration file. In addition,
the default for the MAX_CONFIGURED_PACKAGES parameter has changed. The default
is now 150, the maximum that Serviceguard supports. Previously the default was 0,
so users had to set it before any packages could be configured.
