License to Use, or LTU (T2762AA)
You can obtain the gWLM CMS and the gWLM agent free of charge. The A.01.01.x
agent works for a period of 120 days. After the 120 days, the agent:
Cannot be restarted once it is stopped
Refuses changes to deployed SRD configurations
Refuses to deploy new SRD configurations
To continue using gWLM agents after a free-use period has ended, you must install a
license on each managed node. See your HP Representative for information on how
to purchase this license and download it from the Application Software media (AR).
Summary
The gWLM A.01.01.x CMS (T2412AA) is no longer part of the AR media.
This version of the CMS was removed because it requires HP SIM C.04.02, which was
replaced with a newer version. The CMS does not work with this newer version of HP
SIM.
You can still obtain the gWLM A.01.01.x CMS and HP SIM C.04.02 from
http://www.hp.com/go/softwaredepot.
Impact
The benefits of gWLM include the following:
Better use of the server capacity you already have
Typically, servers are set up with a single workload and ample reserve capacity to
handle the peak demand of that workload. gWLM allows you to combine multiple
workloads on a single server and make use of the reserve capacity—when it is not
needed by your mission-critical workload.
Confidence that your mission-critical workloads get the resources they need
Even with multiple workloads on a server, you can ensure your mission-critical
workload gets the resources it needs: gWLM automatically adjusts resource
allocation, making it easy to share resources when they are plentiful, but also to
dedicate those resources to workloads when there are spikes in resource demand.
Reduced system administration costs
With gWLM managing resource allocation, you can combine more workloads on
fewer servers, thereby reducing administration costs.
Compatibility
There are no known compatibility issues.
Performance
