EMS and CIM Server May Fail to Start
If you are updating from the HP-UX 11i v2 December 2005
release to the HP-UX 11i v2 September 2006 release, the
EMS Hardware Monitors in the Online Diagnostics
product and the CIM server in the WBEM Services
product may fail to start. This problem prevents WBEM
Services, Online Diagnostics, and System Fault
Management from working properly.
Symptoms of this problem include the following:
1. The EMS Hardware Monitors will not monitor
hardware and, therefore, will not generate events.
2. The connection to the EMS Hardware Monitors from
the System Fault Management product fails. (evweb
does not contain any event.)
To verify that this known problem exists, enter the
following command at the command prompt:
# ps -ef | grep moni
