Automated Management of nPartitions and Virtual
Partitions
On rx8640 and rx7640 systems running HP-UX 11i v2, the
library call routine
confstr(_CS_PARTITION_IDENT, buf,
sizeof(buf));
will not return the correct value for the
partition ID in npars mode or in vpars mode.
What To Do
When using Global Instant Capacity (GiCAP), HP-UX
Workload Manager (WLM) or HP Global Workload Manager
(gWLM) for management of nPartitions or virtual partitions
on rx8640 or rx7640 systems, you must install patch
PHKL_35174 for proper management of the partitions.
