Welcome to HP-UX 11i v2 June 2008 HP-UX 11i v2 June 2008 offers the update of two driver bundles (RAID-01 and SerialSCSI-00) as well as Ignite-UX. It also delivers a full range of HP-UX Operating Environments, including systems management and high-availability software products. This DVD booklet provides the following information: • Contents of the HP-UX 11i v2 media kit. • New features and enhancements in this release. • Descriptions of the Operating System and Operating Environments.
Media Kit Contents For new systems, the HP-UX 11i v2 media kit includes the following DVDs and documentation. For the update service, you only receive those components that change from one release to the next. • HP-UX 11i v2 (B.11.23) 2-DVD set — Contains the HP-UX Operating System, Operating Environments, networking software, Update-UX, Ignite-UX, standard HP-UX patch bundles, online diagnostic tools, and the FEATURE11i patch bundle. • HP-UX 11i v2 (B.11.

HP-UX 11i v2 Operating Environments Operating Environments (OEs) are tested and integrated application bundles designed to work with the operating system and provide the functionality needed for your system’s purpose. For more information about the contents of the OEs, see the HP-UX 11i v2 Installation and Update Guide, or see the HP-UX 11i v2 Release Notes.
HP OnlineJFS 4.1 and 3.5 Always Installed on EOE and MCOE HP-UX 11i v2 September 2006 and Later For the HP-UX 11i v2 September 2006 release and later releases, the OnlineJFS 4.1 product is always installed with the HP-UX 11i v2 Mission Critical Operating Environment (MCOE) and Enterprise Operating Environment (EOE). However, when you install the March 2006 or the June 2006 release of the MCOE or EOE from media, you must select which OnlineJFS version to install: 3.5 or 4.1.

Known Problems This section contains critical, late-breaking information that was not included in the HP-UX 11i v2 Installation and Update Guide. Before cold-installing or updating to HP-UX 11i v2, make sure you read this entire section and Appendix A in the HP-UX 11i v2 Installation and Update Guide. The software on the OE DVD is installed using update-ux. If a SG SMS bundle is installed on your system and you attempt to install or upgrade to an OE version that includes Serviceguard and Veritas Storage Foundation versions that are not supported with the SG SMS bundle, update-ux will not detect the incompatible software. The installation will complete, but the Serviceguard cluster will not start, or you will not be able to access the Veritas volumes. update-ux does not check for software dependencies.
"insf: Unable to unload the driver: pfil" What To Do You may safely ignore this message. There will be no problems while working with the DLKM modules. Error When Starting SMH Server When you use the /opt/hpsmh/bin/hpsmh autostart command to start the System Management Homepage (SMH) server, the system displays the following error message in the /var/opt/hpsmh/logs/smh.log file: "Error : The System Management Homepage server could not be started successfully." The /var/opt/hpsmh/logs/smh.
/opt/hpsmh/bin/hpsmh autostart Warning Message: Specified Process Does Not Exist When cold-installing or updating your system to the HP-UX 11i v2 December 2007 release, you may encounter a warning message similar to the following in the /var/adm/sw/swagent.logfile: kill: 829: The specified process does not exist. WARNING: Could not kill all "netfmt" processes. What To Do You can safely ignore this message.
