CAUTION Uninstalling the OnlineDiag bundle or the SysFaultMgmt bundle, or
both, prevents products with dependencies on the diagnostics from
functioning correctly. If the OnlineDiag bundle or the SysFaultMgmt
bundle are not installed, then the protections from hardware failures are
removed. Without these bundles installed on your system, it is much
harder to troubleshoot and fix problems when a hardware failure occurs.
To ensure the reliability of your computer system, HP highly
recommends that you install the OnlineDiag and SysFaultMgmt bundles
with HP-UX 11i v2. With a media install, the OnlineDiag and
SysFaultMgmt bundles are installed by default with any HP-UX 11i
Operating Environment.
The following lists the uses of tools contained in OnlineDiag and
SysFaultMgmt bundles:
• Protects your system from some hardware failures, for example,
some memory problems.
• Includes EMS Hardware Monitors that notifies you of hardware
events.
• Maintains logs that help you determine the cause of failures.
• Enables you to troubleshoot system problems with the system online
or offline.
On most systems, no special configuration of Online Diagnostics is
