Known Install and Update Problems
Appendix A 149
"System does not have a
root password" Warning
During a cold install, you may encounter the following
warning messages in your swagent.log:
WARNING: System does not have a root password.
You have selected a security level that will not
allow remote root logins without a password. To
login, you will have to use a local console.
What to Do
If you have already set your root password, disregard this
message. Otherwise, you will need to set your root password
to enable login from a secure shell.
OnlineDiag Bundle Needs
to be Loaded
If you remove or do not install the OnlineDiag bundle,
some products with dependencies on OnlineDiag will not
function correctly.
To ensure the reliability of your computer system, HP
recommends strongly that you load the OnlineDiag bundle:
•Each OnlineDiag release provides the latest tools and
hardware monitors.
• Support Tools give you multiple protection against
hardware failures.
• Support Tools make it much easier to troubleshoot and
fix hardware failures if they occur.
