Cold-Install Error
Messages
After you cold-install the HP-UX 11i v2 September 2004 or
later release, you may see the following messages in the
swagent.log file:
lvlnboot: /etc/lvmtab: No such file or directory
lvlnboot: “/etc/lvmtab” could not be read into
memory.
You can safely ignore these messages.
HPUX-HIDS Causes
Automatic Reboot
Due to the restructuring of the HIDS product bundle in the
September 2004 release, installation or update from
HPUX-HIDS version 2.x or earlier to HPUX-HIDS version
3.x will cause an automatic reboot of the system. A
restructuring of the product was implemented to address a
behavior that existed in past product releases of an
orphaned file set remaining on the system following an
update. Please note that updates from HPUX-HIDS version
3.0 to version 3.1 will NOT require a system reboot.
Whole Disk Installation
Not Supported with VxFS
and 18 GB Disks
The installation of HP-UX is not supported in the Whole
Disk install configuration with VxFS and only disks 18 GB
in size.
If you attempt a Whole Disk installation of VxFS on 18 GB
disks, then the installation is likely to hang at various
points during the installation process.
What to Do
You should avoid installing with VxFS using the whole disk
option on any 18 GB disk. We recommend you use LVM or
VxVM to partition the disk as an alternative installation
configuration.
