Transport Optional Upgrade Release (TOUR) 3.1 Release Notes

What Is New in This Version

TOUR 3.1 includes all the features and functionalities of TOUR 3.0 along with the defect fixes

listed in “Defect Fixes in This Version” on page 23.

Previous TOUR Bundle Features and Functionalities

Features supported by previous releases of TOUR are automatically included in TOUR 3.1.

The following features were delivered in TOUR 3.0:

• HP-UX Transport Enhancements

— NOSYNC Support: Support for the STREAMS NOSYNC feature that enables

handling of multiple requests arriving on the same queue.

— Forward-Retransmission Timeout (F-RTO): A TCP retransmission algorithm

enhancement that effectively deals with spurious timeouts.

— Dynamic keying support for HP-UX Mobile IPv6 A.01.01 and HP-UX IPSec:

An enhancement that enables dynamic negotiation of IPSec keys using the Internet

Key Exchange (IKE) v1 protocol on HP-UX 11i v2 September 2004 release.

— Enhanced route command: The route command can be used to specify an interface

for a route.

— Congestion window validation: An enhancement to support RFC 2861 for better

estimation of the available capacity as represented by the TCP congestion window.

— Internal TCP and UDP Enhancements: Enhancements to improve TCP/IP

scalability and performance.

• HP-UX STREAMS NOSYNC Enhancement

A new STREAMS synchronization feature that enables components such as I/O drivers to

increase networking I/O bandwidth for high speed links such as multi-port APA and

10Gigabit cards.

The following feature was delivered in TOUR 2.4:

• A default interface for each IPv4 interface

The following features were delivered in TOUR 2.0:

• IP Enablement for InfiniBand Link support

• 6to4 Transition Mechanism for IPv6
