Installing TOUR 3.1

Additional Important Information

This section includes other relevant information about installing and using TOUR 3.1.

TOUR 3.1 and IPSec

TOUR 3.1 is only compatible with, and is a software requirement for, HP-UX IPSec (J4256AA)

version A.02.00 or greater. It is not compatible with earlier versions of IPSec. If you try to

install TOUR 3.1 on a system that has an earlier version of HP-UX IPSec (J4256AA) you will

see the following error message:

ERROR: An older IPSec product (J2456AA) is already installed. This version

of Transport Optional Upgrade Release (TOUR) can only be installed if either

1) the older IPSec has been removed, or 2)IPSec (J4256AA) version A.02.00 or

greater is installed at the same time. IMPORTANT: DO NOT REMOVE IPSec unless

you no longer want IPSec and need this version of TOUR.

A similar message is displayed if you have the older HP-UX IPSec56 product (J4255AA).

HP-UX IPv6 on HP-UX 11i v1

HP-UX IPv6 is not included on base (default) HP-UX 11i v1. HP-UX IPv6 functionality for

HP-UX 11i v1 was first offered in a web release product bundle called IPv6NCF11i.

To enable TOUR 3.1 IPv6 functionality on your HP-UX 11i v1 system, you need not install

previous versions of TOUR or IPV6NCF11i. You can obtain this functionality just by installing

TOUR 3.1.

The following Internet Services products have been IPv6-enhanced, but are not included in

TOUR 3.1 or previous TOUR releases:

• WU-FTPD 2.6.1

• Sendmail 8.11.1

•BIND 9.2.0

WU-FTPD, Sendmail 8.11.1, and BIND 9.2.0 are available as separate web releases on the HP

Software Depot at http://www.hp.com/go/softwaredepot. Download these web releases if you

want to use FTP, Sendmail, or DNS server to handle IPv6 addresses.
