Installing TOUR 3.1

Upgrading to TOUR 3.1 from Previous TOUR Releases on HP-UX 11i

v2 September 2004 Release

No additional STREAMS or ARPA Transport patches are required to upgrade to TOUR 3.1

from TOUR 3.0.

Upgrading to TOUR 3.1 will change the Transport and STREAMS cumulative patch

equivalency levels on the HP-UX 11i v1 system. See the note in “Installing TOUR 3.1 on

HP-UX 11i v2 September 2004 Release” on page 14 for details on the patch equivalency levels.

IMPORTANT If TOUR 3.0, HP-UX IPSec A.02.01, and the NOSYNC software dependencies

are already installed on your HP-UX 11i v2 September 2004 Release system,

install only TOUR 3.1. Do not install any Transport, STREAMS, or other

software dependencies.

If TOUR 3.0 is already on your system without HP-UX IPSec A.02.01 or the NOSYNC

software dependencies, perform the following steps:

Software Dependency

• HP-UX IPSec A.02.01 (if the new dynamic keying feature in HP-UX Mobile IPv6 is used)

NOSYNC Software Dependencies

You can upgrade to TOUR 3.1 without fulfilling the NOSYNC software dependencies.

However, the NOSYNC performance improvement will not be realized unless the following

NOSYNC software dependencies are fulfilled:

• DLPI patch PHNE_33429 (or later)

• HP-UX IPFilter A.03.05.12 (if IPFilter is used)

You can download the required patches from the HP IT Resource Center Web site at

http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/mainPage.do.

NOTE If you have TOUR 2.0 for HP-UX 11i v2, you must first upgrade to HP-UX 11i

v2 September 2004. This will clean TOUR 2.0 from your system, and then

TOUR 3.1 can be installed.

Run the swinstall command

HP-UX Mobile IPv6 A.01.01 is optional. If you do not want to install HP-UX Mobile IPv6

A.01.01, deselect it in an interactive swinstall session. Else, install the bundle as follows:
