Transport Optional Upgrade Release (TOUR) 3.0 Release Notes

Functionalities for Transport and STREAMS are delivered as part of the HP-UX operating

system. Transport Optional Upgrade Release (TOUR) 3.0 is an additional and fully supported

Web release. TOUR 3.0 delivers Transport and STREAMS functionality independently of

major HP-UX releases.

TOUR 3.0 provides a number of Transport enhancements that contribute to the overall

performance and scalability of networking with HP-UX. TOUR 3.0 contains the following

components:

•HP-UX IPv4

•HP-UX IPv6

• PPPoE

•PPPv6

• Router Advertisement Daemon

• HP-UX Mobile IPv6 (introduced in TOUR 2.0)

• STREAMS framework (introduced in TOUR 3.0)

Later versions of TOUR supersede previous versions. All features available in a TOUR release

will be included in a later HP-UX release.

TOUR 3.0 also provides enhancements to the HP-UX STREAMS framework. TOUR 3.0

replaces the original HP-UX STREAMS functionality. However, when the STREAMS

functionality installed as part of TOUR 3.0 is removed, the system reverts to the original

HP-UX STREAMS functionality.
