IPv6 on HP-UX 11i v1 Additional Information
IPv6 is not included on base (default) HP-UX 11i v1. IPv6 on HP-UX 11i v1 functionality was
first offered in a web release product bundle called IPv6NCF11i. The next release was again a
web release product bundle called TOUR 1.0. TOUR 1.0 superseded the IPv6NCF11i product.
TOUR 2.0 released in May 2004 superseded TOUR 1.0 as well as IPv6NCF11i. TOUR 2.2, the
latest version of TOUR, supercedes TOUR 2.0.
To enable the TOUR 2.2 IPv6 functionality on your HP-UX 11i v1 system, you do not have to
first install TOUR 2.0, TOUR 1.0, or IPv6NCF11i. You can obtain this functionality just by
installing TOUR 2.2. If TOUR 2.0, TOUR 1.0, or IPv6NCF11i is already installed on your
system, you can upgrade to TOUR 2.2 by installing TOUR 2.2.
The following IPv6-capable Internet Services products are included with TOUR 2.2 (as they
were with TOUR 2.0, TOUR 1.0 and IPv6NCF11i):
• inetd, Internet Services daemon
• telnet
• r-commands (rlogin, remsh, rexec, rwho)
• name and address resolution resolver routines
• inetd.sec over IPv6
The following Internet Services products have also been IPv6-enhanced:
• WU-FTPD 2.6.1
• Sendmail 8.11.1
• BIND 9.2.0
However, these IPv6-enhanced HP-UX 11i v1 Internet Services are not included in TOUR 2.2
(nor were they included in TOUR 2.0, TOUR 1.0, or IPv6NCF11i). Instead, these products are
available as separate web releases from the HP Software Depot at
http://www.software.hp.com. Download these web releases if you want to use FTP,
Sendmail, or DNS server to handle IPv6 addresses.
