Known Problems and Limitations
TOUR 1.0 includes the following known problem and limitations:
Known Problem
The ipnodes Entry Configuration
If you have set a hosts entry in the /etc/nsswitch.conf file, you must set a similar
ipnodes entry in this file. You have to perform this configuration even if you do not use the
IPv6 addresses.
NOTE You cannot use NIS or NIS+ on the ipnodes entry.
This problem will be fixed in a future libc patch.
Limitations
The limitations of HP-UX 11i IPv6 included in TOUR 1.0 are as follows:
• Distributed File System Limitation
Currently, NIS+, NIS, and NFS are not supported over IPv6.
• The setparms Utility Limitation
On HP-UX 11i, the setparms utility has not been enhanced to support IPv6 configuration.
• The who -R, last -R, finger -R Commands Limitations
The who -R, last -R, and finger -R commands have not been enhanced for IPv6. Thus,
the following cases are observed when using these commands:
— The who -R and last -R commands output displays a truncated IP address when
HP-UX 11i IPv6 on TOUR 1.0 is installed and the user logs in remotely using an IP
address instead of a hostname.
— The finger -R command output displays a local host name, not the remote host
name, when HP-UX 11i IPv6 included in TOUR 1.0 is installed.
