Configuration Information
After installing TOUR 1.0, the telnet, remsh, rcp, and ftp (if WU-FTPD 2.6.1, an optional
software is installed) commands resolve addresses based on the ipnodes entry, instead of the
hosts entry.
If you have a non-default hosts entry in the /etc/nsswitch.conf file, you must configure a
similar ipnodes entry in the /etc/nsswitch.conf file for these commands, so that these
commands can resolve addresses successfully. You must perform this configuration even if
IPv6 addresses are not used.
Currently, this is a known problem. For more information, see “The ipnodes Entry
Configuration” on page 16.
NOTE You cannot use NIS or NIS+ on the ipnodes entry.
HP-UX 11i IPv6 Product Bundle Information
Earlier, IPv6 functionality was delivered as a web release (IPv6NCF11i) on HP-UX 11i v1.
IPv6 included in TOUR 1.0 supersedes this initial HP-UX 11i IPv6 product (IPv6NCF11i).
To enable IPv6 functionality on an HP-UX 11i v1 system, you do not have to install
IPv6NCF11i. You can obtain this functionality by installing TOUR 1.0. However, if you have
already installed IPv6NCF11i on your system, you can still install TOUR 1.0, because IPv6
included in TOUR 1.0 supersedes IPv6NCF11i.
NOTE The swlist command output will no longer display IPv6NCF11i, because
TOUR 1.0 supersedes IPv6NCF11i.
