Transport Optional Upgrade Release (TOUR) 1.0 Release Notes

Installation Information

This section includes information on installing TOUR 1.0 on HP-UX 11i v1. In addition, it

includes information needed before and after the TOUR 1.0 installation.

NOTE TOUR 1.0 is not compatible with any version of IPSec (products J4255AA or

J4256AA). Therefore, before installing TOUR 1.0 on HP-UX 11i v1, see “TOUR

1.0 and IPSec Incompatibility” on page 14.

System Requirements

The TOUR 1.0 release must be installed on HP-UX 11i v1. You can install it on a 32-bit or

64-bit environment. It requires 9 MB of free disk space. The approximate ﬁle size of the

TOUR 1.0 download is less than 4.5 MB.

Installation Instructions

To install TOUR 1.0 on an HP-UX 11i v1 system, complete the following steps:

Step 1. Install the following patches:

NOTE A few patches are kernel patches; therefore, these patches require a

system reboot.

• Install the latest (March 2003 - B.11.11.0212.4 or later) HP-UX 11i Quality

Pack (GOLDQPK11i) patch bundle.

• In addition, you must install the following patches:

— PHCO_24287 - "patch for the syslogd(1M) command"

— PHNE_28476 - "cumulative STREAMS patch"

— PHNE_27796 - "libnss_dns DNS backend patch"

— PHNE_28895 - "cumulative ARPA Transport patch"
