Symptom Probable Cause Action
LED is amber
(solid)
If cable is
attached, there is
probably a
network problem.
Disconnect the cable. If the
LED flashes Green, the
adapter is OK.
Reconnect the cable, try a
new cable or connect to a
different concentrator port.
If no FDDI cable is
attached, the
problem could be
with the adapter
Use lanadmin to re-set the
card.
If the problem persists,
re-boot the system.
If the problem persists,
contact your
Hewlett-Packard support
contact.
LED flashes
amber
Invalid FDDI
topology.
Use a valid topology
configuration.
Verify that you do not have
your A port connected to
another A port or your B
port to another B port.
