What’s In This Version
What’s In This Version
Benefits:
• Allows users requiring connectivity to a Datakit network to upgrade PCI-based computers
running HP-UX 11.0.
• Based on the STREAMS mechanism for writing drivers, it is a cleaner, more easily
maintained product than those based on character device drivers.
• Efficiently uses disk resources, by taking advantage of HP-UX's file system layout; almost
the entire software product is isolated from other loaded applications.
• Affords greater flexibility in starting and stopping the servers by taking advantage of the
startup and shutdown paradigm of HP-UX 10.0x.
Features:
• Based upon HP's Z7126A NIO Datakit product, it uses STREAMS modules, rather than
character device drivers.
• Except for log files, most of the software resides under the directory /opt/dk. Dynamic,
growing files are located under /var/opt/dk.
• The configuration file under /etc/rc.config.d/dkit provides greater flexibility in starting
and stopping the dkserver and listener processes.
