What’s In This Version
Benefits:
Allows users requiring connectivity to a Datakit network to upgrade PCI-based computers
running HP-UX 11.0.
Based on the STREAMS mechanism for writing drivers, it is a cleaner, more easily
maintained product than those based on character device drivers.
Efficiently uses disk resources, by taking advantage of HP-UX's file system layout; almost
the entire software product is isolated from other loaded applications.
Affords greater flexibility in starting and stopping the servers by taking advantage of the
startup and shutdown paradigm of HP-UX 10.0x.
Features:
Based upon HP's Z7126A NIO Datakit product, it uses STREAMS modules, rather than
character device drivers.
Except for log files, most of the software resides under the directory /opt/dk. Dynamic,
growing files are located under /var/opt/dk.
The configuration file under /etc/rc.config.d/dkit provides greater flexibility in starting
and stopping the dkserver and listener processes.
Fixes:
None.
This is the initial release of the Z7155AA product.
Other:
