PCI Commkit Release Notes Announcements 1 PCI Commkit Release Notes Announcements This is the first release of the PCI Commkit Host Interface product (Z7155AA). This product is a port of AT&T’s Commkit 4.X Host Interface software, customized to run on HP computer platforms with PCI backplanes. With this software, and a customer-supplied Lucent Technologies PCI Datakit interface (Comcode 108208786), you can connect an HP-UX PCI-backplane computer to an AT&T Datakit network.
PCI Commkit Release Notes What’s In This Version What’s In This Version Benefits: • Allows users requiring connectivity to a Datakit network to upgrade PCI-based computers running HP-UX 11.0. • Based on the STREAMS mechanism for writing drivers, it is a cleaner, more easily maintained product than those based on character device drivers. • Efficiently uses disk resources, by taking advantage of HP-UX's file system layout; almost the entire software product is isolated from other loaded applications.
