Conventions Used In This Manual
This manual presents sample commands and command formats for you to
use. In this manual, parts of commands that you must type exactly as pre-
sented are given in Courier typeface, like this:
this is a sample command
Command options, which you can enter if you choose but are not required,
are presented in brackets, like this:
[ -r ] [ -p ]
[-P
parameterFile
]
When you must select only one option of the choices provided, the options
are separated by a vertical bar, like this:
[-r] | [-h]
This format means that you add either -r or -h to your command, but not
both.
Command parameters for which you must substitute a specific value are pre-
sented in italics, like this:
dx_config -t
device
When you enter this command, you would substitute a specific value for
device.
