Verifying the Installation
Verifying the Installation
When you have completed the installation process, you may want to verify
that the installation was correct.
1 Log in as superuser.
2 Enter the command
dmesg
The system will display startup and diagnostic messages:
4.1 lan3
8 lanmux0
8.1 lan3
12 dknio0
20 dknio0
52 scsi1
52.0 target
52.0.0 tape 2
Notice that the fourth and fifth lines display the numbers of the two Datakit
interface boards, dknio0.
3 Verify that a line appears for each interface board you have installed and that the
slot number agrees with its installed location. You can install a maximum of 8
boards.
On Series 800 computers with multiple bus converters, a bus converter number
precedes the slot number, as in the following lines:

0/8 dknio0
