Connecting the Fiber Optic Cables
Cabling a Datakit Interface Board To a CPM-HS Module
1 Make sure that both the host computer and the VCS switch are turned on.
2 Hold one end of the fiber optic cable.
3 Connect one of the ST connectors to the transmit (TX) jack on the Datakit inter-
face board.
4 Connect the other ST connector to the receive (RX) jack.
5 Move to the other end of the fiber optic cable.
6 Connect one of the ST connectors to the transmit (TX) jack on the CPM-HS mod-
ule.
7 Connect the other ST connector to the receive (RX) jack on the CPM-HS module.
8 If the LED on the CPM-HS module comes on, remove both connectors. Attach
the connector that was on the TX jack to the RX jack, and the connector that was
on the RX jack to the TX jack.
9 Label both ends of the cable with the CommKit server name.
