Installing the NIO CommKit Host Interface

Preparing for Installation

Installing the NIO CommKit Host Interface involves installing both the

Datakit interface board and the CommKit software. You may be installing

the NIO CommKit Host Interface for the ﬁrst time, or you may be integrat-

ing a new version into an existing Datakit network.

Before you begin the installation, check that you have all the required com-

ponents:

• The Datakit interface board, part number 93302-60010

• A DDS tape in SD-UX format containing the CommKit software

• A suitable fiber optic cable, available from AT&T

• An available double-wide slot in the host computer

• An available CPM-HS module in the AT&T Virtual Circuit Switch

• The HP-UX STREAMS and Transport Level Interface (TLI) software
