Troubleshooting Guide
Outgoing Call Error Messages
dkdial ... Please supply a valid phone number
Explanation The user has neglected to type the phone number required
to make a phone call as in dkcu dialer-name.phone-
number. The phone-number is synonymous with the
dialstring.
dkdial ... Receive window too small
Explanation The call could not be completed because the receive
window size is too small.
dkdial ... Remote node not answering
Explanation A connection cannot be completed because a data switch
trunk or common data switch database somewhere in the
network path is out of service.
Action Verify that the trunk is in service. If the trunk is not in
service, run restore trunk on the data switch console to
bring the trunk into service.
dkdial ... Server already exists
Explanation This host attempted to set up a CommKit Host Interface
server, but the data switch control computer database
already knows a server by that name.
dkdial ... Server not answering
This error can be caused by any of the following conditions:
Explanation The CommKit server connected to the remote host is not
running.
Action Check to make sure that both the remote host and the
CommKit server are running.
Explanation The address of the remote CommKit server is out of
service.
