Known Problems and Workarounds
• The Datakit drivers are not MP scalable and do not take advantage of additional
processors in a multiple processor environment.
• Successful operation of Z7126A requires the latest available STREAMS subsystem patch.
Compatibility and Installation Requirements
Software Requirements:
• The NIO Commkit Host Interface software product is provided in Software Distributor
(SD) format. It consists of six filesets: Z7126A.DK4NIO.DKIT4-KRN for a 32-bit kernel,
Z7126A.DK4NIO.DKIT4-KRN for a 64-bit kernel, Z7126A.DK4NIO.DKIT4-AUX for a
32-bit kernel, Z7126A.DK4NIO.DKIT4-AUX for a 64-bit kernel,
Z7126A.DK4NIO.DKIT4-RUN, and Z7126A.DK4NIO.DKIT4-MAN.
• The DKIT4-KRN fileset is dependent upon the following HP-UX filesets:
OS-Core.CORE-KRN,r=B.11.11,a=HP-UX_B.11.11_32/64
Streams.STREAMS-KRN,r=B.11.11,a=HP-UX_B.11.11_32/64
Streams-TIO.STRTIO-KRN,r=B.11.11,a=HP-UX_B.11.11_32/64
• The DKIT4-MAN fileset has no dependencies.
• The complete software specification is:
Z7126A,r=B.11.11.02,a=HP-UX_B.11.11_32/64,v=HP
• If Datakit/CommKit has been previously installed on the computer, the Datakit subsystem
should be brought to an orderly shutdown and any prior version removed before
installation of the latest software.
• The Datakit subsystem can be brought to an orderly shutdown with the following
command - 'dkitrc stop'. If necessary, remove any prior version of Datakit using the
'swremove' command.
