What's In This Version
Benefits:
The NIO Commkit Host Interface software allows user's requiring connectivity to a
Datakit network to upgrade to HP-UX 10.20.
The Z71 26A software architecture is based on STREAMS mechanism for writing drivers
which provides a cleaner design environment than previous HP Datakit products. This will
translate into less software defects and greater customer satisfaction.
Features:
The NIO Commkit Host Interface software product is a redesign of HP's 93302PD Datakit
product. The new product utilizes STREAMS modules, rather than character device
drivers to provide a cleaner, more easily maintained product.
The Z7126A product takes advantage of H P-UX's new file system layout. Except for log
files, almost the entire software product is isolated from other loaded applications under
the directory /opt/dk. Dynamic, growing files are located under /var/opt/dk. This separation
allows for better utilization of disk resources.
The new Z7126A product takes advantage of the new startup/shutdown script paradigm of
HP-UX 10.x. The new configuration file under /etc/rc.config.d/dkit provides greater
flexibility in starting and stopping the dkserver and listener.
