Setting Up and Servicing Print Servers
Using the PSERVER Daemon
Enter the password for user print_server_object_name on server
file_server_name:
A system file, usually called password, can be used to automate this process.
It is found in the PSERVER log directory. In general, this will be the
directory . To automate the process, enter the PSERVER object password
into the password file or pass password as a parameter to the pserver
command.
Checking PSERVER Status
You can use PCONSOLE, and NetWare Administrator to determine the
current status of the PSERVER daemon.
Determine Current Status Using PCONSOLE
Procedure
1 From a DOS workstation, run PCONSOLE.EXE
2 From the “Available Options” menu, select the desired print server.
3 From the “Print Server Information” menu, select “Information and Status.”
Determine Current Status Using NetWare Administrator
Procedure
1 From a Windows, Win95 or NT workstation, run NetWare Administrator.
2 Browse the tree and select the container object in which the print server is
defined.
3 Choose the print server
4 From the “Object” menu, choose “Details...” to display the print server
information.
Stopping PSERVER
You can stop PSERVER with PCONSOLE, or NetWare Administrator (see
Table 6-2) or by typing the following at the NetWare Services console:
stopprint
You must have root or NetWare Admin privileges to issue this command.
