syslog Event Logging
Chapter 8
89
The mipadmin utility will extract syslog entries logged by the mipd or miprod daemon
according the following rules:
1. If you specify mipd or ma, mipadmin will display entries logged by the most recent
instance of mipd. If you specify miprod or cn, mipadmin will display entries logged by
the most recent instance of miprod.
2. If you do not specify a daemon or type of service and there is an HP-UX Mobile IPv4
daemon running, mipadmin will display entries logged by that daemon.
3. If you do not specify a daemon or type of service and there is no HP-UX Mobile IPv4
daemon running, mipadmin will display entries logged by the most recent instance of
mipd.
The
level
parameter must be one of the following values: a[lert], e[rror], w[arn],
i[nfo].
You can repeat the
level
parameter multiple times. The mipadmin utility only displays
event log records for the level or levels specified, and does not display records for any
unspecified lower levels.
If you do not specify a log level, mipadmin will display event log records for all levels.
