Installing and Configuring DHCPv6 2

Configuring DHCPv6 2.001
Configuring the Server
Chapter 332
-k Kills the server gracefully.
- h max_hop_count Specifies the maximum number of hops allowed for
a DHCPv6 packet after which the server drops the
DHCPv6 packet.
-r Rereads the configuration file and triggers the
server to send a reconfig-init message to the
clients when the configuration file has any new or
updated information.
-u Enables the unicast option.
-C Enables the rapid commit option.
-R Runs the DHCPv6 server as a relay agent.
dhcpv6d updates the server database files located in the /etc/dhcpv6db
directory. The DHCPv6 2.001 server uses these files to build its internal
database and to maintain the leases.
For more information, type man 1m dhcpv6d at the HP-UX prompt.
NOTE You can use the -k and -r options only if a DHCPv6 2.001 server is
already running on the system.
Server Configuration File
You can use the /etc/dhcpv6tab file to configure the DHCPv6 2.001
server. dhcpv6d reads the dhcpv6tab file to build its internal database
file.
The /etc/dhcpv6tab file contains the following sections:
DHCPv6 2.001 client default settings
(DHCP_CLIENT_DEFAULT_SETTINGS)
This section specifies the tags for the DHCPv6 2.001 client default
settings. These tags are applicable to all the addresses that the
server assigns to the DHCPv6 2.001 client.
DHCPv6 2.001 pool group settings (DHCP_POOL_GROUP)
This section specifies the tags for an individual DHCPv6 2.001 pool
groups.
