The dhcpv6d Server Daemon
dhcpv6d is the IPv6 version of bootpd that runs as a standalone
daemon. The dhcpv6d daemon supports the following features:
• Dynamic renumbering
• Relay preconfiguration with server addresses or use of multicast
addresses
• Multiple IP addresses for an interface
You can start dhcpv6d by one of the following methods:
• Invoking dhcpv6d from the command line.
• Editing the /etc/rc.config.d/netdaemons file to invoke dhcpv6d
upon each reboot.
Invoking dhcpv6d
To invoke dhcpv6d, run the following command on the command line:
/usr/sbin/dhcpv6d [-d] [-c config_file] [-k] [-h] [-r] [-u]
[-C] [-R]
where,
-d Enables debugging.
-c config_file Specifies the alternate configuration file to be read
by the DHCPv6 2.001 server. The default file is
/etc/dhcpv6tab.
