You cannot use all fcmsutil options with all the adapters. In the manpage for fcmsutil, (QL)
follows the options that can be used with the FibreChannel port of the A6826A, A9782A, A9784A,
AB378A, AB379A, and AB465A adapters. Options without the (QL) indicator can be used with
all adapters.
You can use the echo, test, reset, and get options with fcmsutil. Use other fcmsutil
options only at the request of your HP support representative.
Reading VPD Information
You can use fcmsutil with Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters to read Vital Product Data (VPD)
information on the adapter, which can be useful in troubleshooting problems remotely. The
command for retrieving VPD information is as follows:
fcmsutil <device_filename> vpd
