Problem Why does
swverify
generate warnings against the DMI filesets?
Resolution If you are upgrading SCR/DMI from a version earlier than B.11.[
00/11
/23].39 (product
numbers B6816AA or B6260AA), swverify warnings will be generated. This occurs
because the filesets, SCR, DMI-ITO, DMI-SDCI, and DMI-SDCI-MAN, have been
obsoleted in B.11.[
00/11/23
].39 and all subsequent versions of DMI.
Rather than removing this functionality during an upgrade, the obsoleted filesets are
left on your system resulting in the swverify warnings. These warnings are similar to:
WARNING: [140151] The dependencies for fileset
“DMI.DMI-SWCI,l=/,r=B.11.00.38” cannot be resolved (see
previous lines).
* [140159] The software “DMI.DMI-RUN,l=/,r=B.11.00.38” has
previous analysis errors.
[140154] The prerequisite “DMI.DMI-RUN,l=/,r=B.11.00.38” for
fileset “DMI.DMI-UXCI,l=/,r=B.11.00.38” cannot be successfully
resolved.
* [140159] The software “DMI.DMI-SHLIBS,l=/,r=B.11.00.38” has
previous analysis errors.
[140154] The prerequisite “DMI.DMI-SHLIBS,l=/,r=B.11.00.38”
for fileset “DMI.DMI-UXCI,l=/,r=B.11.00.38” cannot be
successfully resolved.
WARNING: [140151] The dependencies for fileset
“DMI.DMI-UXCI,l=/,r=B.11.00.38” cannot be resolved (see
previous lines)
If you do not use the functionality provide by these obsoleted filesets, you are encouraged
to remove them from your system using the swremove command. For example, to remove
the currently installed version 38 of the SCR and DMI products from a system running
HP-UX 11.11 you would use this command:
swremove SCR,r=B.11.11.38 DMI,r=B11.11.38
Refer to the manpages, swverify (1M) and swremove (1M), for additional information
regarding the use of these commands.
Should you choose to leave these filesets installed on your system, be aware that:
•The swverify warnings will continue.
The obsoleted filesets will not be delivered in any subsequent releases of DMI.
